Colorado Community SHARE Sites - Self Help and Resource Exchange
The Colorado Community SHARE sites allow community members to make person-to-person connections with one another to offer and request donations of time, services and goods, and post requests for assistance of the same.
We have three sites to address different regions, although none are set in stone. Post wherever makes the most sense for you:

**Any and all services offered or receive as a member of Colorado Community SHARE sites are on a volunteer basis, and should not include any monetary component to receive or give any money for those services, except if there are related material fees agreed upon in advance (for example, building materials).***

Need ideas on how to volunteer to help?
People who have experienced a loss and/or displacement need support in a variety of ways that extend far beyond help cleaning up or simple replacement of material goods (although those are both important). Getting 'back to normal' can be a long road, with lots of paperwork and stress along the way! See the list below for some ways you can offer support.
Time and Services
You can volunteer to offer your time and services in many ways. The obvious needs are those of food, shelter and clothing for those who have lost homes, and assistance with clean up and rebuilding for those whose homes were damaged. Those impacted by disasters are affected in many other ways as well, and can benefit from many other types of support, from help with insurance paperwork, video and photographic documentation of insurance damages, rides to appointments and errands run, assistance in recovering computer data, help verifying contractors and other clean up professionals (fraud is rampant after disasters, sadly), Counseling services, and many many others. See the link below for a list of ways you can help.
Please list any offer of time or service you are willing and capable of providing and that you feel might be of use. While there may not be someone ready to take you up on your offer immediately (or there might be!), needs will continue to shift and change in to the foreseeable future and those affected are able to assess and plan. To register to volunteer and post offers of time and services directly to those in need, please click on one of the SHARE sites above. Many people want to donate household goods and clothing to help those affected by the floods rebuild. These items are generally best donated to a distribution center where those with a need can shop for what they need. For a list of items that can be donated to the 4 Mile Community Flood Relief Store. For a list of currently needed items, click here.
On the Colorado Community SHARE sites, please list any offer of goods you are capable of providing and that you feel might be of use. Please remember these are our friends and neighbors, and offer ONLY items in great condition. Individuals and families who have already experienced great losses are also in great need, but deserve to be treated with respect and their dignity preserved. Items that are damaged, excessively worn, or have other significant cosmetic or functional defects are not only not helpful, but take time and energy that no one has to spare at the moment.
While there may not be someone ready to take you up on your offer immediately (or there might be!), needs will continue to shift and change in to the foreseeable future and those affected are able to assess and plan. So list whatever you have to offer and see what happens! To register to volunteer and post offers of time and services directly to those in need, please click on one of the SHARE sites above.
